Fair Trade

Proudly Brewing Fair Trade

The coffee, tea, and hot chocolate we serve every week are certified fair trade.

We believe that Scripture teaches us to seek justice for and protect the people Jesus referred to as "the least of these."  We can do that as individuals and as a community of believers by buying products such as coffee, sugar, cocoa, and produce that is fairly and ethically traded.

According to Merriam-Webster, “Fair Trade” is a “movement whose goal is to help producers in developing countries to get a fair price for their products so as to reduce poverty, provide for the ethical treatment of workers and farmers, and promote environmentally sustainable practices.”

FairTradeUSA.org says Fair Trade is practiced in over 50,000 communities in North America, and benefits “more than 1.2 million farming families in 70 developing countries across Africa, Asia, and Latin America.” The Fair Trade market includes a variety of goods from foods, beverages and spices to personal care products, clothing, and crafts.
