The Well

What is The Well?
A new worship experience that seeks to connect people with Jesus Christ meeting Saturday nights at Oak Hills.
Why The Well?
In the Bible, Jesus meets a Samaritan woman at the well. In this single encounter Jesus smashes through the barriers of life to meet a woman at the place where she is at and to offer her hope . . . to offer himself. Jesus crosses lines of culture, religiosity, gender, propriety, ethnicity, and expectations to have a face-to-face encounter with this woman. The Well seeks to create an environment where the barriers in our lives are broken down so that people can meet Jesus.
Standing beside the community well, Jesus says to the woman, “Anyone who drinks this water will soon become thirsty again. But those who drink the water I give will never be thirsty again. It becomes a fresh, bubbling spring within them, giving them eternal life.” (John 4:13-14, NLT)
Mahatma Gandhi is quoted as having said, “I like your Christ. I do not like your Christians. They are so unlike your Christ.”
At Oak Hills we painfully acknowledge the truth of this quote and are striving every day to change it.
Why Saturday night?
Because sometimes Sunday morning just doesn't work. Very few of us have a "normal" Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm with weekends off life.
